Jacob Gapp joins the South Dakota women's volleyball coaching staff ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Gapp, a 2019 graduate of USD with a degree in Human Resources Management, will be pursuing a masters degree in Business Administration.

Gapp, originally from Summit, S.D., joined the Coyote volleyball team as a volunteer assistant in the spring of 2017.

In his time as a volunteer assistant, he participated and competed against the team in practice by serving, blocking, and hitting to make the team more prepared for upcoming competition. He also traveled with the team and attended home matches and took stats for the team.

In his second season with the team, the Coyotes won their first-ever Summit League Tournament title beating Denver and competed in the NCAA tournament.

The 2019 season, Gapp's third with the program, saw the team accomplish a school-record 31 wins, set a Summit League record for winning percentage (.912), win a Summit League regular season title and advance to the title match of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC).
