OMAHA, NEB. - Behind a 26-point, 15-rebound performance from senior forward Mandy Koupal, the 16th-ranked South Dakota women's basketball team (19-5, 4-4 NCC) captured a 63-47 victory over Nebraska-Omaha Saturday night at Sapp Fieldhouse in Omaha, Neb.

The win pushed the Coyotes back to the .500 mark in the NCC at 4-4 and 19-5 overall, while UNO dropped to 4-16 overall and 0-8 in league play.

Koupal, who recorded her third consecutive and 15th double-double of the season, hit 8-of-16 shots from the field and connected on 9-of-10 free throws. The Wagner, S.D., native also tied a career high with five blocked shots.

Sophomore forward Vanessa Yanez chipped in 13 points and nine rebounds, while freshman guard Jenni Flynn scored nine points.

Defense keyed the USD victory, as Nebraska-Omaha had more turnovers (17) than field goals (16). The Mavericks, who were led by sophomore J.J. Smith's 16 points, hit just 27.6 percent of their shots from the field (16-of-58).

South Dakota also struggled with its shooting, hitting 23-of-62 attempts from the field (37.1 percent) and just 3-of-24 three-point attempts (12.5 percent). USD outrebounded the Mavericks, 43-42.
