SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- South Dakota's Leita Rolfe, a freshman from Newcastle, Wyo., has been named the North Central Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, according to an announcement released today (Feb. 8) by the North Central Conference office.
The South Dakota women's team, led by the performance of freshman Leita Rolfe of Newcastle, Wyo., picked up a pair of first place finishes at the Minnesota Challenge held on the campus of the University of Minnesota. Rolfe captured a title in the 400 IM, clocking a 4:38.29, which is the third best performance in school history. Rolfe was also a member of the winning 400 Free Relay, which recorded a time of 3:43.77. Other team members included Megan Gordon of Grand Rapids, Minn.; Angie Stalker of Sheridan, Wyo.; and Audrey Donley of Arvada, Colo.
Additionally, Rolfe was third in the 100 Breast in 1:07.86, which is the fourth best clocking in school history. She also took second in the 200 Breast with a clocking of 2:25.69, which is the fourth best time ever at USD.
On Friday, Rolfe was a member the USD women's 400 medley relay which was third in 4:03.68.and the women's 200 free relay was sixth in 1:41.76. The A squad included Donley, Stalker, Gordon and Rolfe. USD's B squad was seventh in 1:44.82.
