The University of South Dakota women's soccer team Sunday afternoon in Minneapolis, Minn.
The Gophers, who ran their unbeaten streak to six games, were led by four goals from Katie Bethke.
"We played one of the best teams in the Big Ten and we were able to test a few things we usually do such as pressing and restarts," said USD head coach Marcia Oliveira. "It is a great opportunity to compare programs and make adjustments to the direction we want to go. The girls played hard and tried their best. We want to move forward with this experience and bring a strong perspective to the games in the Great West Conference."
The game was scoreless for the first 10 minutes before Minnesota scored on a goal by Olivia Bagnall. Minnesota led 4-0 at halftime.
Rachel Greene (Fr., Onalaska, Wis.) had the shot on goal for USD (3-7-1). Taura Truba (So., Coaldal, Alberta, Canada) had 10 saves for USD.
The Coyotes resume action on Friday, Oct. 9 at home against Great West Conference foe Houston Baptist. Game time is 4 p.m. at the USD Soccer Field in Vermillion. S.D.
