Box Score GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- A goal late in the first half proved to be the difference as North Dakota edged
the University of South Dakota, 1-0, in Great West Conference women's soccer action Friday in Grand Forks, N.D.
It was the fourth one-goal loss of 2010 for the Coyotes (3-7-2, 0-1-0 GWC), and ended a streak of four straight wins over UND for USD.
Rachel Dallman's goal at the 43:31 mark broke a 0-0 tie and gave UND a 1-0 lead.
USD was outshot 25-14, but only 9-4 in shots on goal. In the second half, USD had an 11-9 edge in shots but was unable to find the back of the net.
Senior goalkeeper Jen Ogren (Raymore, Mo.) had eight saves for USD.
Freshman Afton Keiser (Sioux Falls, S.D.) led USD with five shots, including three on goal. Senior Katie Quinones (Rochester, Minn.) had three shots, while freshmen Laura Ekeren (Yankton, S.D.) and Jenny Teslow (Sioux Falls, S.D.) had two shots each.
The Coyotes continue Great West play on the road on Thursday, Oct. 14 at Houston Baptist. The match begins at 4 p.m. in Houston, Texas.
