46 South Dakota Student-Athletes Receive Diplomas at Spring Commencement

Vermillion, S.D. -- A total of 46 South Dakota student-athletes received their diplomas during the 2011 Spring Commencement held Saturday at the DakotaDome in Vermillion, S.D.

A reception was held in the morning to honor the Coyote athletes prior to the ceremony.

Coach Mandy Green's women's soccer team graduated eight, including Jen Ogren (Raymore, Mo.), the school's all-time leader in saves, and Katie Quinones (Rochester, Minn.), who ranks sixth all-time in career goals.

Coach Ed Meierkort's football team graduated seven individuals, including All-Great West honorees Mitch Mohr (Genoa, Neb.) and London Landry (Lancaster, Calif.). In addition, former Coyote Paul Tschetter of Sioux Falls, S.D., received his doctor of medicine degree.

The Coyote women's swimming and diving team, under the direction of Coach Jason Mahowald, graduated seven, including standout Sallie Collins (Hastings, Minn.), who is the school's record holder in the 100 breaststroke.

The Coyote women's and men's track and field programs each graduated four individuals, while the South Dakota softball team and women's basketball team each graduated three. Coyote men's basketball, women's tennis and women's golf each graduated two. One men's swimmer, one volleyball player and one men's golfer also earned their diplomas.
