VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host the annual Share Your Sole shoe drive from Nov. 24 to Dec. 6 to benefit those in need living in reservations in South Dakota.
Donation boxes have been placed throughout campus and at the DakotaDome. In addition to donation boxes being available around campus, SAAC members will be present at the following three home basketball games to collect shoes from Coyote fans:
Coyote Women vs. Northern Iowa on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.
Coyote Men vs. Youngstown State on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.
Coyote Women vs. Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 6 at 2 p.m.
There will also be donation boxes available at this week's games in the concourse area. The women play UC Irvine at 7 p.m. on Monday, while the men take on Wayne State (Neb.) Wednesday at 7 p.m.
At the end of the collection period, the collected shoes will be donated to the Native American Heritage Association (NAHA) in Black Hawk, S.D., for distribution. NAHA delivers approximately 25,000 pounds of clothing items per month to reservations in need across South Dakota. For more information visit http://www.naha-inc.org
