VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota wide receiver Eric Shufford has been named to the 2014 Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team as announced by the league office Tuesday. Shufford is the sixth Coyote to be named to the team in the last three seasons.
Shufford, a junior from Rialto, Calif., led Coyote receivers with 53 catches for 699 yards and five touchdowns this season. He ranked seventh in the Valley in catches and finished 10th in yards. Shufford was also the team's top kick returner and averaged 17.8 yards on 20 returns. He led the Coyotes with 1,097 all-purpose yards.
