The Game
South Dakota hosts Dakota Wesleyan for the final game inside the DakotaDome in 2015. The Coyotes travel to North Dakota and Illinois before returning to Vermillion for the start of Summit League play against Denver on New Year's Day.

Tonight's game features two high-scoring programs from two different levels. South Dakota has the 26th-best scoring offense in the nation at 78.9 points per game with a 9.1 scoring margin over its opponents. Dakota Wesleyan, ranked 12th in the most recent NAIA DII Coaches Poll, is averaging 82.7 points per game with a 26-point scoring margin.

The Series
This marks the 10th meeting between South Dakota and Dakota Wesleyan in program history, but the first since the 2004-05 season. The Coyotes lead the series 8-1 with seven of the nine previous games played inside the DakotaDome.

Last Time Out
The Pac-12's Washington pulled away late in the fourth quarter to win 77-64 Saturday and end South Dakota's 18-game home winning streak. The Coyotes had also won six in a row on the season up until that point. The Coyotes used a 19-0 run in the first quarter for an early advantage and had the lead headed into the locker room at halftime. UW's Kelsey Plum, the nation's leading scorer at 28.4 ppg prior to tip-off, scored nine points on a Husky 16-4 run in the fourth to finish it off. Senior guard Tia Hemiller and junior guard Jasmine Trimboli had 13 points apiece to lead the Coyotes.

A Family Reunion
South Dakota director of basketball operations Amanda Hart and athletic trainer Taylor Piper are Dakota Wesleyan women's basketball alumnae. Hart is also the daughter of DWU Athletic Director Curt Hart and sister of DWU Associate Athletic Director Jonathan Hart. All three Harts are expected to be in attendance Thursday evening.

Rushmore State Natives
These two programs boast a combined 17 South Dakota natives. South Dakota has five Rushmore State players on its roster, while Dakota Wesleyan has 12. On the roster for the Coyotes include senior guard Tia Hemiller (Watertown, S.D.), senior center Margaret McCloud (Rapid City, S.D.), senior guard Heidi Hoff (Brandon, S.D.), junior guard Caitlin Duffy (Rapid City, S.D.), and redshirt freshman guard Kaitlyn Severyn (Pierre, S.D.).
