#March2theSummit
South Dakota has advanced to its fourth consecutive Summit League Tournament championship game in its fourth year of eligibility with a 9-2 tournament record. The Coyotes clinched back-to-back Summit League regular season titles as well. South Dakota is looking to become the ninth No. 1 seed in the tournament's 24 years to win the automatic bid to NCAAs. Standing in the way is South Dakota State, who has won six of the last seven tournaments and are 20-1 in the tournament.

The Series
SDSU leads the all-time series 53-26 and the tournament record 2-1, but South Dakota swept South Dakota State in the regular season for the first time since 1989-90. Both South Dakota State tournament wins have come in the tournament game, while South Dakota defeated South Dakota State in the semifinal in 2014 en route to reaching its first NCAA Tournament.

The Game
South Dakota carries a 16-game winning streak into the championship, the program's longest in the Division I era.

The Coyotes quick style of play and scoring depth has resulted in the nation's ninth-best scoring offense at 79.5 points per game. Defense also improved in the second half of league play, with opponents held to and average 55 points per game in the second league meeting. The lethal combination of a quick offense and tough defense has created a scoring margin of 15 points per game, however South Dakota State was won of the closer match ups this season with a scoring margin of five points in both wins.
