Calling-All-Coyotes Auction raises $325,000

C-A-C Auction

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—The third annual Calling-All-Coyotes auction held Friday evening at the Sioux Falls Convention Center raised more than $325,000 which will help support the Howling Pack and South Dakota student-athletes.

The night included silent and live auctions, live music from the JAS Quintet, drinks, hors d'oeuvres and dinner. More than 600 people attended the event, including more than 60 Coyote student-athletes and many members of South Dakota's coaching staff.

"This night represents everything that is great about the University of South Dakota," said USD Associate Athletic Director Jon Schemmel. "It is a celebration of our two most valuable assets – our student-athletes and supporters. This has become a can't-miss event for Coyotes everywhere and is something everyone looks forward to each year.

"Thank you to our sponsors, the Howling Pack Board and Auction Committee for making this night possible. Our development staff of Chris Kassin, Elliot Powell, Matt Martin, Mikaela Fischer, led by Erica Schilling and Torie Buberl, worked incredibly hard putting this event together and I cannot thank them enough for their efforts."

A trip to St. Johns U.S. Virgin Islands, two customized USD golf carts, a football package to Albuquerque for the Coyotes' 2016 season opener against New Mexico, and dinner with USD President Jim Abbott and his wife, Colette, were among the many items sold during the auction. The $325,000 raised was a record for the event, which has brought in close to $750,000 in three years.
