WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – The South Dakota men's golf team is in seventh place after two rounds of the Zach Johnson Invitational. The Coyotes fired 607 shots (+39) over the first two rounds taking place at Glen Oaks Country Club.

Freshman
Ben Hicks, playing as an individual, is the top Coyote with 148 strokes after shooting back-to-back 74's on Monday. He totaled five birdies over the first 36 holes on the course.

Sophomore
Jacob Michel was the top Coyote scorer with 150 strokes and is tied for 17
th. Michel has tallied 75 strokes in each round for his 8-over-par. Sophomore
Tate Arends tallied 152 strokes and improved by eight strokes from the first round to the second. He closed with a 1-over-par 72 in the second tour of the course to push him into a tie for 26
th.

Matt Tolan is tied for 32
nd with 153 strokes as junior
Scott Fudenberg is tied for 41
st with 156 strokes. Senior
Tommy Vining is the final point scorer for USD with 157 shots and is tied for 44
th.

Along with Hicks, freshman
Justin Kolb and junior
Hunter Paugh are also competing as individuals. Kolb holds down the 40
th position with 155 shots while Paugh is tied for 56
th with 162 strokes.

Bradley leads the 12-team field with 593 strokes, shooting 294 shots in the first round and followed with 299 in the second round. Drake Bushong of Bradley is the top player in the 73-player field at 1-under-par.

The final round is slated to be played Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m. The course is playing 6,898 yards and to a par 71.
