GOODYEAR, ARIZONA– The South Dakota Coyote's men's golf team placed seventh out of 20 teams at the Loyola Intercollegiate, held Feb. 15-17 at Palm Valley Golf Club's Palms Course in Goodyear, Arizona.
On the 72 par, 7,015-yard layout, the Coyotes were led by Joe Rohlwing, who finished 10th individually out of 119 golfers. Rohlwing pieced together rounds of 68-71-68 to finish at 9-under-par for the tournament. He opened and closed the three-day event with matching 4-under 68s, showcasing consistency and composure to secure a top 10 finish in a competitive field.
Shoma Taguchi added a strong performance, carding rounds of 69-71-72 to finish at 4-under overall. His opening-round 69 helped set the tone for South Dakota, and he remained steady throughout the tournament.
Cole Witherow finished at 1-over-par with rounds of 73-72-72, rebounding from his first-round score with back-to-back even-par efforts. Jack Holtz posted rounds of 71-75-73 to finish at 3-over, highlighted by a 1-under 71 in round one.
Parker Etzel improved each day, following a 75 in the opening round with a 74 and a final-round 71 to close at 4-over for the event. Lance Hamak competed as an individual and recorded rounds of 75-75-75.
South Dakota men's Golf is back in action on March 9th to take on the Donald Ross Collegiate in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
