WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – The South Dakota men's golf team closed the Zach Johnson Invitational with its best round of the tournament and placed seventh overall. Freshman
Ben Hicks led USD in a tie for 10
th place at 7-over-par at the event taking place at Glen Oaks Country Club.

Hicks, playing as an individual, shot a 1-over-par 72 in the final round to total 220 strokes. He had 15 pars through the course, marking the most in the field.

Jacob Michel, a sophomore, was the top team scorer for the Coyotes, placing in a tie for 18
th. Michel used a 1-over-par in the final round to tally 222 strokes for the tournament and finish at 9-over-par. Junior
Matt Tolan placed in a tie for 23
rd with 224 strokes while sophomore
Tate Arends tied for 28
th with 226 shots.

th while senior
Tommy Vining tied for 44
th to close out the Coyote scorers. Fudenberg totaled 231 strokes with Vining at 233 shots.

Outside of Hicks, the Coyotes also had freshman
Justin Kolb and junior
Hunter Paugh in the field as individuals. Kolb placed in a tie for 37
th while Paugh placed in a tie for 66
th with 246 strokes.

Bradley won the team title with 879 (+27) strokes. South Dakota placed seventh with 899 strokes, tallying 292 shots on Tuesday. Tyler Anderson of Loyola (Chicago) won individual medalist honors with 214 strokes at 1-over-par for the tournament.

South Dakota next travels to Denver for the Paintbrush Invitational hosted by Summit League foe Denver with action beginning Monday.
