PARKER, Colo. – The South Dakota men's golf team began play at the Paintbrush Invitational Monday, with action suspended in the second round due to darkness. With complete results through one round, the Coyotes are in 10
th place with 308 strokes.

Junior
Matt Tolan led the Coyotes in the first 18 holes at 3-under-par with 69 strokes. Tolan had three birdies in the round and tallied an eagle.

Scott Fudenberg is tied for 45
th with 79 strokes while
Tate Arends and
Ben Hicks closed the round tied for 55
th. Arends, a sophomore, and Hicks, a freshman, each totaled 80 shots in the round. Senior
Tommy Vining is tied for 61
st with 81 strokes in the opening round.

Colorado State leads the field with 287 strokes at 1-under-par. The field also consists of Colorado and Oregon who are second and fourth, respectively. South Dakota's 308 strokes are four shots in front of host, and fellow Summit League foe, Denver. Â

The Paintbrush Invitational concludes Tuesday at Colorado Golf Club where the course will play 7,513 yards and to a par 72. The individuals remaining to conclude round two will begin at 9 a.m. (CDT).
