Matt Tolan saw a 10-shot improvement in the second round of the Golfweek Program Challenge as the South Dakota men's golf team maintained sixth place on Monday at True Blue Golf Club.

Tolan shot a 2-under-par 70 to move up to a tie for 58
th position with 150 strokes over the first two days. He tallied seven birdies throughout the second tour of the course.

Sophomore
Tate Arends moved atop the Coyotes' leaderboard after shooting an even-par 72. Arends sank five birdies in a span of seven holes and is tied for 15
th in the field with a 3-under-par 141.

Jacob Michel, a sophomore, is tied for 20
th after shooting a 2-over-par 74 in the second round, totaling 142 strokes throughout the event. Senior
Tommy Vining is just one stroke behind Michel with 143 shots. He shot a two-over 74 in the second round including an eagle on the 540-yard par-5.

The final Coyote in the field is junior
Scott Fudenberg who is tied with Tolan in 58
th position. Fudenberg improved by two strokes from Sunday with a 2-over-par 74 on Monday.

As a squad, the Coyotes are one stroke out of fourth place with 572. Austin Peay and Bradley are tied for fourth with 571 strokes as Campbell leads the field with 543 strokes. Max Theodorakis of Campbell is the leader in the clubhouse with 133 strokes after shooting a 9-under-par 63 on Monday.

The Golfweek Program Challenge also has a program race, combining the men's and women's scores together for each team. Combined, Campbell leads the team race after the second round with 1,103 strokes. The Coyotes are in eighth place of the 14-team field with 1,185 combined strokes. The women's teams are playing at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

The three-day event concludes Tuesday at True Blue Golf Club. The course is playing 6,926 yards and to a par-72.
