McCrone added to athletic training staff

New Staff

VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine Bruce Fischbach is pleased to announce the hiring of Mo McCrone as an assistant athletic trainer.

McCrone began his duties at South Dakota in October and works primarily with the Coyote men's basketball team.

A native of Janesville, Wisconsin, McCrone spent 14 months as an assistant athletic trainer at Concordia University Wisconsin, his alma mater, providing coverage for women's lacrosse, women's soccer and wrestling programs.

McCrone graduated from Concordia Wisconsin with his bachelor of science in athletic training in May of 2015. While as an undergraduate, he was a four-year member of the Falcon men's soccer team.

He garnered his master's degree in athletic training from North Dakota State in 2017. As a graduate assistant, he provided athletic training coverage for a Bison baseball team that reached the Summit League Championship game in 2017.

McCrone is a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer and holds professional memberships with the National Athletic Training Association, Great Lakes Athletic Training Association and Mid-Atlantic Athletic Training Association.

Mo and his wife, Chelsea, reside in Vermillion.
