VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota senior libero
Anne Rasmussen is one of nine players selected to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 volleyball team announced Thursday. It is the first such honor for Rasmussen, who advances to the Academic All-America team ballot with honorees to be announced in December.
Rasmussen joins
Brittany Jessen (2017) and Kaitlyn Hastings (2013) as volleyball players from South Dakota in the Division 1 era to receive this honor. She is the lone Summit League member on this year's team and just the fifth in league history to be named to the Academic All-District First Team.
Rasmussen, the reigning Summit League Defensive Player of the Year, carries a 3.94 cumulative GPA while majoring in exercise science.
She currently leads the Summit League in digs per set at 4.87 and sits ninth all-time in Summit League history in career digs with 1,845.
"I am so proud of Anne for what she has accomplished in her time as a student-athlete," coach
Leanne Williamson said. "She has been the definition of a student-athlete, excelling in both the classroom and on the court.
"I am so proud of her dedication to putting her studies first and being a great example to follow."
