Anne Rasmussen has been named Summit League defensive player of the week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Rasmussen is honored for a league-best seventh time this season and her 13 career honors are most on the defensive side and second-most all-time in Summit League history.
The Oak Creek, Wisconsin, native, equaled her season-high for a three-set match with 22 digs in a sweep over Purdue Fort Wayne. She also tallied 22 digs in a four-set win over Western Illinois.
The reigning Summit League defensive player of the year is leading the league at 4.97 digs per set. She enters the Summit League tourney sitting eighth in league history in career digs with 1,889.
"Anne was really good this weekend and was key for our two final wins in the regular season," coach
Leanne Williamson said. "She has been a constant defensive presence for us, and ultimately has helped us win a lot of matches."
The Coyotes take a 27-1 overall record and 24-match win streak into the Summit League tourney. South Dakota is the No. 1 seed after completing an unbeaten 16-0 Summit League slate.
