KANSAS CITY, Mo. – South Dakota junior midfielder
Alexis Mitchell was named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-Region team.
Mitchell, a Lee's Summit, Missouri, native, was named to the All-West Region Third Team following a six-goal, five-assist season.
She started all 18 games, registered 28 shots and had three game-winning goals for a Coyotes team that finished the season at 8-9-2.
She earned second-team All-Summit League honors as she tallied three goals and two assists during the eight-game league slate.
"Alexis is a workhorse and a leader on and off the field," coach
Michael Thomas said. "She is very deserving of this honor as a person and a player."
This is the second straight season a Coyote has earned All-Region honors as
Taryn LaBree was honored in 2018.
