AUSTIN, Texas—Five Coyote track and field athletes will represent the red and white at the NCAA Outdoor Championships held June 5-8 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
South Dakota makes up five of the Summit League's 19 entries to the NCAA meet.
Senior
Lara Boman competes in the hammer throw, senior
Ben Hammer is in the discus, junior
Chris Nilsen competes in the pole vault, junior
Zack Anderson is in the high jump and junior
Helen Falda competes in the pole vault. All five return from appearances at the 2018 meet.
The top-eight performers in each event earn first-team All-America honors while places 9-16 earn second-team All-America recognition. Those finishing in places 17-24 receive honorable mention accolades.
South Dakota has 10 All-Americans who have picked up 16 All-America honors outdoors since 2011, highlighted by a pair of NCAA Champions in Bethany Buell (2013) and Nilsen (2018).
