Senior soccer player Alexis Mitchell and senior high jumper Zack Anderson are the guests on this week's YoteCast, the official podcast of University of South Dakota athletics hosted by the voice of the Coyotes, John Thayer.
 
Mitchell, recently named a first-team all-Summit League honoree, shares what brought her to USD, how the investment in facilities has lifted the program and how cool it was to have a night game in Vermillion. She also beams about the team's progress to close the season and realizing her goal of competing in a Summit League Tournament.
 
Anderson talks about the "coolest moment" of his sports career in clearing 2.26 meters. He also discusses his goals from here including preparation for an Olympic qualifying meet in Oregon. Anderson also touches on the comradery that exists within the team and what motivates them to bring out the best in each other.
 
But we begin as we always do with athletic director David Herbster, who recaps Coyote volleyball's NCAA appearance, his reaction to Anderson's recent feat, and goes around the world of sports happening at USD.

Thayer is in his eighth year with the Coyote Sports Network by Learfield IMG College. He moved into the play-by-play role for Coyote football and men's basketball this season after spending seven years as the voice of Coyote women's basketball and a sideline reporter for football.
