South Dakota returns to the course with a three-day tournament in Rio Verde, Arizona. After a few weeks off from competition, the Coyotes will be competing in the Rio Verde Invite hosted by Western Michigan.
The tournament will include 18 teams and three days of 18-hole rounds. Round one will begin on Friday with a 2:00 p.m. CT shotgun start before the second and third rounds begin on Saturday and Sunday with 9:30 a.m. CT shotgun starts. The tournament will be played on the White Wing Golf Course at the Rio Verde Country Club. The course plays as a par 72 and covers 6,001 yards.
USD's lineup will have one change from the previous tournament. The lineup includes senior
Laerke Jensen, sophomore
Danica Badura, sophomore
Akari Hayashi, freshman
Paige Hoffman, and senior
Megan Munneke. Munneke is making her spring debut.
As a team, the Coyotes finished in ninth place at the Texas State Invitational. USD compiled a team score of 930 over the 54-hole tournament. Badura led the team with an 11th place finish. She recorded a season-low 71 in her second round at the Texas State Invitational and earned Summit League Golfer of the Week after her performance. South Dakota totaled 143 pars and 26 birdies over the three rounds. With Badura's eagle in round two, the Coyotes were one of five teams to record an eagle throughout the tournament.
