South Dakota women's golf completed its first day at the Texas State Invitational down in Kyle, Texas. The Coyotes completed the first round of the day with a 313 team total and improved by 10 strokes in the second round with a 303 overall score. After today's 36 holes, USD sits in a tie for eighth place with one more round to go Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.

Danica Badura shot a 76 in her first 18 holes and then fired off a 1-under par 71 in the next round. Badura started her second round on the back nine and carded an eagle on the par-five 11 followed by a birdie on 12 to put her at 3-under to start the second round. The sophomore finished her day at 3-over and in a tie for sixth place individually.

Laerke Jensen started her day strong by carding a 1-over par 73 in the first 18. Jensen shot a 79 in the next round with two birdies on the back nine to bring her to 8-over for the day and a tie for 19th place.

Akari Hayashi got off to a slow start in round one but managed to knock off nearly 10 strokes on the second 18 holes. Hayashi was steady with 13 pars in her second round and a birdie on hole six to end her day in a tie for 40th place.

Paige Hoffman shot an 81 in round one before recording a 78 in her second round. Hoffman carded back-to-back birdies on 11 and 12 in her second round and finished her day in a tie for 45th.
Jalea Culliver fired an 88 and 83 on her day to round out the lineup for the Coyotes.

Molly Fossen competed individually and shot an 84 and 77 in the first two rounds. Fossen's 161 total has her in a tie for 48th place heading into the final frame of the tournament.
