The Meet
South Dakota track and field begins the championship slate with the Summit League Championships slated for Thursday through Saturday at ONEOK Sports Complex in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Coyotes
This weekend marks the return to the very track where the Coyote women earned their first Summit League Championship, a shared title with North Dakota State, back in 2018. South Dakota's women look to continue the momentum from the indoor championship meet, where USD ended NDSU's 14-year run. On the men's side, USD was picked third in the preseason poll. The Coyotes were runners-up indoors to South Dakota State, with the final team result coming down to the results of the 4x400-meter relay. South Dakota's last outdoor title on the men's side was shared with NDSU in 2014.

The Competition
North Dakota State is the defending champion for both men and women – the Bison women have won 13-straight titles and the NDSU men have won 11-straight. NDSU's women have the longest active streak of outdoor conference titles in all of Division I. The Coyotes have a pair of shared titles with NDSU, the 2018 women and the 2014 men, during the streak. South Dakota was picked to win in the preseason poll on the women's side, while South Dakota State was picked for the men.
