SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – In the final Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors of the outdoor track season, South Dakota track and field earned the men's and women's field awards, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
The Coyotes also became the first Summit League Track and Field program to sweep a weekly award as the trio of
Delaney Smith,
Anna Willis, and
Marleen Mülla won every women's field honor this outdoor season.
Mülla reached new heights at the USD Twilight meet, clearing 15-0 ¼ (4.58m) to win the event. That clearance is a new outdoor personal best that is third on the USD Top 10 and is the Lillibridge Track Complex Facility Record that she now shares with teammate
Anna Willis. Mülla is second in the Summit League in the event, trailing teammate
Anna Willis, and is fourth nationally and third in the West Region this season.
Mülla has earned eight Summit League weekly honors during outdoor her career. She will finish with the second most weekly outdoor honors in a career in Summit League women's outdoor track and field history, one behind Rachel Talbert's (Oral Roberts) nine.
Brandon Vander Sluis has earned a second weekly honor this spring after a personal best 61-2 ¾ in the shot put at the USD Twilight Friday night. It is the best throw in the Summit League this spring and is 32
nd in the NCAA and 16
th in the NCAA's West Region.
The Coyotes won every weekly women's field honor this spring and totaled three men's field honors. The full list of Coyote weekly honors this season is below.
