Luquin Added to 2022 Roster

South Dakota head women's soccer coach Michael Thomas announced the addition of Kelsie Luquin to the 2022 roster. Luquin will head to South Dakota after graduating from Rancho Cucamonga High School in Ontario, California.

"We are excited to add Kelsie to our 2022 class," said Thomas. "She has the size and raw ability to be a very good goalkeeper at the University of South Dakota."

Luquin will add more depth to the Coyote goalkeeping staff as she is now the fourth goalkeeper signed for the 2022 team. She played in all 24 games for Rancho Cucamonga and led the Cougars to a 12-9-3 record last season. Luquin allowed 27 goals last season and recorded a 1.1 goals against average. She started her senior season off with three straight shutouts en route to a total of seven on the year. Luquin was selected as the varsity team captain and earned second team all-league honors. She also was a member of the Legends FC club team while in high school. Off the pitch, Luquin was a scholar athlete and appeared on the honor roll and principal's honor roll during her high school career.

Luquin is the daughter of Jose Luquin and Marissa Garcia. She plans to study kinesiology while enrolled at South Dakota.
