Swim and dive releases 2022-23 schedule

VERMILLION, S.D. — South Dakota head swimming and diving coach Jason Mahowald is pleased to announce the 2022-23 schedule featuring three meets inside the Midco® Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls and trips to Power Five schools Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa State.

"We are really excited about our upcoming schedule," said Mahowald. "We have set ourselves up to compete against some really great teams early in the year, which will definitely prepare us for some great performances later in the season."

The road trips to Lincoln, Nebraska (Oct. 15) Lawrence, Kansas (Oct. 21-22) and Ames, Iowa (Oct. 28) come on consecutive weeks in October after the women open the season with a road dual at Minnesota State (Oct. 7). The trip to Lincoln will mark the men's season opening meet.

South Dakota will take part in two meets in November, both inside the Midco Aquatic Center, as the Coyote Extravaganza (Nov. 4-5) opens the month prior to the Augustana Invitational (Nov. 17-19).

Three Summit League duals will make up January's slate on the schedule as St. Thomas comes to the DakotaDome (Jan. 20) for the team's lone home dual of the season. Road duals against league foes South Dakota State (Jan. 21) and Omaha (Jan. 28) close out the month.

USD will host the Coyote Invite (Feb. 4-5) to close out the regular season before the four-day Summit League Championships (Feb. 22-25) in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The postseason includes the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in Minneapolis, March 7-9.

The Coyotes will send qualifying athletes to the NIC Invitational in Elkhart, Indiana on March 8-11.

The women's NCAA Championships are March 15-18 in Knoxville, Tennessee, while the men's NCAA Championships are March 22-25 in Minneapolis.
