Coyotes head back west

South Dakota women's golf heads back to the west coast this week. The Coyotes will compete in the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invite in Tacoma, Washington, Monday and Tuesday. Participants will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The event begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Monday.

The tournament will be held at Tacoma Country and Golf Club. The par 72 course spans 6,945 yards and holds a 73.4 rating with a 133 slope. The Tacoma Country and Golf club has been in operation for more than 100 years, opening its doors in 1894.

The field consists of 21 teams situated mostly on the western half of the country. USD, North Dakota State, and North Dakota are representing the Summit League.

South Dakota will send five women to the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational including sophomore Catie Nekola who was the highest South Dakota finisher at the Coeur D'Alene Resort Invitational last week.

Freshmen Ella Greenberg and Lara Gehring will also be joining the Coyotes. Greenberg holds a 75.13-stroke average through three tournaments.

Rounding out the team are sophomores Emma Henningsson and Alexa Wingnean. Henningsson shot an even 72 to highlight round two of the Coeur D'Alene Resort Invitational last week.
