The Game
South Dakota hosts Mount Marty for a game at 7 p.m. Wednesday night inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion, South Dakota.
A live stream of the game will be available through the Summit League Network, available on the Midco Sports Plus app. A radio broadcast from the Coyote Sports Network with Jerry Palleschi will also be available on KVHT 106.3.
The Coyotes
South Dakota (7-3) has won four in a row and just three games remain before the start of Summit League play on Dec. 29. Junior guard
Grace Larkins has averaged 21 points while shooting at nearly a 70 percent clip during the win streak. Fifth-year junior
Alexi Hempe has averaged 10.8 points a game during the streak as well.
The Coyotes' perimeter defense has held foes to 22 percent from deep, a number that ranks top-10 nationally. South Dakota's held eight-straight opponents to under 30 percent from 3.
The Lancers
Mount Marty (3-8, 1-6 GPAC) makes the trip down Highway 50 for the first time in four seasons. The Lancers are in year two under head coach Allan Bertram.
Jadyn Jensen is a true freshman out of Murdo, South Dakota, leading the Lancers in scoring and rebounding. She's scored in double figures in all but three games this season. Mount Marty's 12 steals per game ranks 33rd among all NAIA teams this season with sophomore Sidney Thue twice recording six steals in a game this season.
The Series
South Dakota leads the series 34-9 with 27 of those games being played in Vermillion. The Coyotes have taken 13-straight meetings in the series, with the last win being a 110-39 victory in December of 2019.
