SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—South Dakota placed 114 student-athletes on The Summit League Commissioner's List announced Wednesday.
The list honors student-athletes for their hard work in the classroom. They must carry a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average, have completed at least three semesters at the institution and used a season of competition in the sport in which the student-athlete is nominated.
South Dakota captured Team Academic Achievement Awards in the sports of women's basketball, men's swimming & diving, and women's tennis. The Summit's team academic achievement award is presented to the school in each sport with the highest percentage of eligible student-athletes on the Commissioner's List.
Women's tennis place 100 percent of its eligible roster on the list, women's basketball placed 90 percent and men's swimming & diving placed 66.7 percent. This is the fifth Team Academic Achievement Award for women's tennis and the fourth such honor for women's basketball and men's swimming & diving.
Overall, South Dakota placed 58.7 percent of its eligible student-athletes on the list. The Coyotes' 114 athletes combined for 122 selections. The complete list of South Dakota's 2022-23 Summit League Commissioner's List honorees follows.
