South Dakota athletics is excited to announce that the fourth annual Coyote Block Party is set for Friday, Sep. 8, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the grass lot north of the tennis courts and east of the DakotaDome. Expanded and bigger than ever, the Block Party has something for everyone.
Kick off the 2023-24 season with fun, food and fandom at this free event with programming featuring Coyote coaches and student-athletes. Food, beverages and games will be on hand. Charlie's Bookstore and Fan Shop will also be on site for all of your game day needs. Highlights of the 2023 Block Party include:
Live Entertainment/Petting Zoo
The BS Band will take the stage at 4:30 p.m. and play throughout the event. Led by Brian Spurrell, the BS Band hails from the Viborg/Irene area and performs covers of classic to modern hits. Also on hand will be the Finny Mini Farm and Sanctuary, hosting a petting zoo featuring Nelli the Pig, goats, chickens and more.

Coyote Rummage Sale
The South Dakota athletic department will be hosting a rummage sale on the tennis courts east of the DakotaDome. Items for sale include over 100 pairs of shoes, jackets, sweatshirts, jerseys, shorts, helmets and more.
Food
HyVee will be serving food and drink for purchase throughout the event.
South Dakota Volleyball vs. South Florida
The Block Party will lead into the South Dakota volleyball vs. South Florida game in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Prior to the game, the 2022 Summit League Regular Season and Tournament Championship banners will be unveiled. The theme of the game is "White Out". Game time is set for 7 p.m.
