FARGO, N.D.—Play was suspended due to rain near the end of the first round of the North Dakota State Fall Invitational Tuesday. The four-team, two-round event will pick up again Wednesday morning at Oxbow Country Club.
All seven Coyotes are competing in the tournament including four freshmen who are making their collegiate debuts. One of those is Ava Schroeder who stands in seventh place at 6-over par thru 16 holes of round one. Another freshman, Ella Greenberg, is tied for eighth place at 7-over par with two holes left. Sophomore Alexa Wingnean is also 7-over thru 17 holes.
Sophomore Emma Henningsson carded two birdies and fired a 10-over 82. Freshman Lara Gehring completed her round at 12-over par. They are two of eight golfers who finished all 18 holes Tuesday.
Freshman Avery O'Donnell is 10-over with four holes left in round one. Sophomore Catie Nekola is 11-over with one hole to finish.
South Dakota is currently sitting third in the team rankings with a score of 30-over par. North Dakota State and St. Thomas share first place at 21-over-par.
