The Coyotes
It's been a light schedule so far for South Dakota as we head into February. South Dakota opened the season with a pair of team titles at the SDSU Holiday Invitational back in December, then the Coyote women finished runner-up to Nebraska last weekend at the Mark Colligan Memorial in Lincoln. The Coyotes were picked as the preseason Summit League favorites after sweeping the team titles a year ago.
Â
Senior
Marshall Faurot is the reigning Summit League Peak Performer of the Week for men's field. He captured the pole vault in Lincoln with a season-best height of 17-3 (5.26m). His was one of seven event titles captured by the Coyotes at the Mark Colligan Memorial.
Â
USD also had three marks make the Coyote Top 10 list last Saturday. The women's 4x400-meter relay of
Jacy Pulse,
Madison Jochum,
Erin Kinney and
Sara Reifenrath posted the second-fastest time in school history in 3:42.97. Pulse also individually cracked the top-10 in the women's 60 meters by clocking 7.65 seconds. Freshman
Madison Brouwer, in her first race coming off an all-Summit cross country season, posted the fourth-fastest mile time in program history in 4:52.29.
Â
The Competition
Joining the Coyotes in the meet field are Omaha, Creighton, USF and Dakota Wesleyan.
