Matthews, La. — The South Dakota men's golf team had a strong start to the LaTour Intercollegiate as the Coyotes sit in first place.
 
The Yotes put up round scores of 285 and 280, marking new low round scores for the men. As a team, the Coyotes are -11 on the Carolina Golf Club course. In total, the Coyotes have carded 35 birdies within the first two rounds of the tournament.

Senior, Logan Hamak, stood out today throughout the 36 holes of golf that were played. He is currently tied for second place overall by putting up round scores of 72 and 67. Hamak carded 12 of the 35 birdies today and is sitting at -5 on par.
