VERMILLION, S.D. — South Dakota men's golfer Parker Etzel was named to the 2026 Summit League Men's Golf Academic All-League Team, the league office announced Thursday afternoon. 
 

Etzel earns the recognition following an outstanding season both on the course and in the classroom. Earlier this spring, he was also named the Summit League Men's Golf Scholar of the Championship at the 2026 Summit League Championships. 

A business finance major with a perfect 4.0 GPA, Etzel turned in one of the top performances in the conference at the Summit League Championship. He tied for second overall after finishing with a 54-hole total of 209 (-4) and advanced to a four-player playoff for medalist honors after rounds of 68, 72, and 69. His performance helped lead the Coyotes to a third-place team finish. 

Throughout the 2025-26 season, Etzel competed in all nine events for South Dakota and posted a 74.26 scoring average across 27 rounds. He recorded eight rounds at or below par and collected a top-10 finish during the year. His season-low round came at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational where he fired a 69 (-3). 

The Academic All-League Team recognizes student-athletes for their combined accomplishments academically and athletically throughout the season.
