ROCHESTER, Minnesota – South Dakota men's and women's swimming and diving teams combined for 26 top three finishes during Saturday's final day of the two-day Huskie (Coyote) Invitational from the Rochester-Olmstead County Recreation Center Natatorium.
The Coyotes won six individual races – from six different swimmers – during the final day as both the men's and women's teams finished second in the final standings in the invite format event. The men scored 2165.5 points while the women's team had 2008.5.
Gabbie Ahrendt,
Madeline Schrank,
Taylor Buhr and
Emily DiProspero won races for the women while
Alex Parkinson and
Will Barth, a pair of freshmen, touched the wall first for the men's team.
Ahrendt, a sophomore, won the 200 IM in a season best of 2:08.74 while also placing third in the 500 free in 5:14.60.Â
DiProspero, a freshman, won the 1650 free in 17:40.16, good for the third-fastest time in the Summit League this season, while she also placed second in the 200 fly in 2:08.18, a season best time.
Schrank, a freshman, won that 200 fly race in 2:07.97, a personal best that moved her into the Coyote Top Ten at tenth all-time.Â
Buhr, a junior, swam 2:23.40 to claim the 200 breast race while she finished fourth in the 200 IM in 2:11.48, coming in just behind Ahrendt and teammate
Grace Schultz, who was second in 2:10.45.Â
Parkinson added the 1650 free race title to his weekend, touching in 16:20.90 that moves him to third in the Summit League, after claiming the 500 free title during Friday's opening day.
Barth won the 500 free on Saturday in 4:40.59 and also finished second in the 200 fly in a personal best of 1:53.65 to move up one spot to eighth on the Coyote Top Ten chart.
Emily Kahn swam a pair of season bests while finishing second in the 50 free (24.04) and third in the 100 free (52.99).

Mairead Powers (200 back),
Carson White (500 free) and
Jack Berdahl (200 breast).
The Coyote men's and women's team each placed second in both relays contested, the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.Â

Sara Mayer and Kahn swam in the 200 medley relay while the quartet in the 400 free relay were Ahrendt,
Madilyn Gehrke, White and Kahn.Â
For the men's relay teams,
Joaquin Contreras-Fallico led off the 200 medley and was joined by Berdahl,
Grant Wolner and Rounds.
Jacob Carlson,
Adam Fisher, Rounds and
James Schreiber made up the foursome in the 400 free relay.Â
Other third-place finishes were achieved by

Matthew Sorbe (200 free),
Ethan LaBounty (200 IM),
Tatum O'Shea (200 back) and Contreras-Fallico (200 back).Â
South Dakota has a couple of weeks off before participating in the three-day St. Thomas Invitational on November 21-23 for its final competition of the first semester.Â
