Nick Rounds has been selected as the Summit League Peak Swimmer of the Week the league announced on Tuesday.
Rounds, a freshman from West Des Moines, Iowa, earns his first career Men's Swimmer of the Week honors after contributing seven top three finishes for the Coyotes at the recently completed two-day Huskie (Coyote) Invitational.Â
Rounds won the 50 free sprint on Friday in a Summit League leading time of 20.74 seconds and came back later that evening to leadoff a runner-up 200 free relay and lower his top time in the Summit League in the 50 free to 20.67. He placed second in the 100 back in a season best 51.23 and anchored a third-place 400 medley relay with a 45.79 split.
He came back on Saturday to place second in the 50 free in 20.90 while swimming on a pair of runner-up relays, the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.Â
South Dakota returns to the pool for the three-day St. Thomas Invitational on Nov. 21-23 in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
