CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The final road trip of the non-conference slate ended with the Coyotes falling to Northern Iowa 78-59 Tuesday night in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Grace Larkins ended an assist shy of a triple double, totaling 17 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. The Coyotes also got a season-high 10 points from
Adara Groman.
Alexi Hempe was the third Coyote in double figures, scoring 10 points, nine of which coming from beyond the arc.

Northern Iowa built a 20-point halftime lead off high shooting numbers. The nationa's leading three-point shooting team hit 50% of their 3-point shot in the first half (7-14) and shot 50% from the field. The Coyotes converted the same number of three-pointers, but on four more attempts in the half and only shot 35% from the field.

The Coyotes held the Panthers in check in the second half, playing them to a 26-25 advantage and holding UNI to just 17% from beyond the arc. The nationa's fourth leading scorer, Maya McDermott, scored 10 points below her season average, totaling 14 points on 3-of-8 shooting. The Coyote defense was tougher in the second half, and held UNI to 35% shooting from beyond the arc for the game.

Outside of Larkins' near triple double, Hempe added five rebounds to her 10 points and Groman had four rebounds to go with her 10 points.
Gabby Wilke added seven points, two rebounds, and two blocks off the bench. All eight Coyotes who entered the game scored for USD.

The Coyotes will get some much-needed rest after three games, two on the road, in the last week. USD also gets to play their next three inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center after being on the road for seven of their first 11 games. The Coyotes host Wyoming Sunday at 1 p.m.
