USD athletics announces three staff promotions

02.13.2024

VERMILLION, S.D. – USD Athletic Director Jon Schemmel is excited to announce promotions for three USD staffers.  Sean Beam is the new Associate Athletic Director for Events and Facilities.  Sara Wieseler has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities.  Also, Chad Davison will be the new Assistant Athletic Director for Events.

"We are thrilled for Sean, Sara and Chad to step into new leadership roles", said Deputy Athletic Director Corey Jenkins, "They have earned their respective opportunities with their expertise, hard work, and dedication to USD and our student-athletes.  We look forward to their continued contributions to Coyote athletics.  Congratulations to all three!"

Beam came to USD in February of 2023.  In his new role as Associate Athletic Director for Events and Facilities, Beam will have oversight of all facilities and events departments.  He will also be the facilities liaison for all athletics capital projects, oversee building security and access, and will serve as a sports supervisor.  Beam came to USD from Central Michigan University where he served as the director of facilities and events and associate athletic director for capital projects, facilities, and event operations from 2019 to 2023.  Before that, he worked at Nicholls State University in the ticket office and athletic facility operations from 2016-2019.  Beam graduated from Liberty University in 2016.

Wieseler has been with USD Athletics since 2007.  She has served in several roles with both the facilities staff and equipment staff in her time with the Coyotes.  As the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities, Wieseler will have oversight of all custodial and facility operations, take the lead on all facility conversions, and oversee facility maintenance tracking.  A graduate of Wayne State in 2007, Wieseler has been with USD since her time as an undergraduate intern.

Davison is a two-time USD graduate with both a bachelor's and a master's degree in kinesiology and sport management.  As the Assistant Athletic Director for Events, Davison will oversee event management for all home Coyote Athletics events.  He will also lead facility scheduling and will supervise a staff of three.  Davison has been with USD Athletics since his time as an undergraduate, when he was a student assistant starting in 2016.  After he graduated in 2018, he served as a GA before being hired full time.

These promotions are effective immediately.  For contact information for Beam, Wieseler and Davison, please see the staff directory page at goyotes.com.
