RIO VERDE, Ariz.— The South Dakota women's golf team sits in 12
th place in a 21-team field after two rounds of the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Arizona.
Emma Henningsson currently sits in a tie for sixth place individually with one round to play.
Henningson, who made a late push with birdies on three of four holes finished the round at an even-par 72, giving her a total two round total of one-under par. Henningson will look to finish as the Coyotes' low scorer for the third consecutive tournament.
Alexa Wingnean matched Henningson with an even-par 72 on the day. The Canadian posted a 13-stroke improvement over her score from round one. She currently sits in a tie for 79
th with a two-round total of 13-over par.
Catie Nekola also improved upon her score from yesterday, posting a 2-over par score of 74. The sophomore is currently 6-over par overall, good for a tie for 39
th place. Freshman
Ava Schroeder scored a 5-over par 77, giving her a total of 7-over par over two rounds. That is good for a tie for 47
th place.
Ella Greenberg added a 6-over par score of 78. Her overall score or 15-over par has her in a tie for 87
th place overall.
After seeing their results falter over the final holes yesterday, South Dakota made a big push over the final holes today. They jumped four spots in the standings over their final six holes. Xavier leads the team race after two rounds with a score of 1-under par. The Muskateeers' Kara Carter leads the individual race with a score of 7-under par.
