WALNUT, Calif.—South Dakota fourth-year junior
McKenna Herrmann recorded her best steeplechase performance in three years on Thursday night at the Mt. SAC Relays inside Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
Herrmann clocked a time of 11:06.26 for 20th place in the women's elite 3,000-meter steeplechase race. She dropped 15 seconds off her season best and recorded her best mark since the Summit League Championships in 2021. She was an all-Summit performer in the event as a freshman before injury kept her off the track her sophomore season. Senior
Abbie Schmidt took 22nd in 11:19.38.
In the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase collegiate race, sophomore
Carson Lauterbach clocked 9:48.43 for 10th place.

Bryce Paulsen took 10th in the collegiate javelin competition with a throw of 161-2 (49.14m).
A majority of the Coyote track and field squad is set to compete tomorrow at the Mt. SAC Relays. Action gets underway at 11 a.m. Central inside Hilmer Lodge.
