FARGO, N.D. — Two Coyotes set personal bests and three found the podium during Friday's Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Fargo.

TOP PERFORMERS
• South Dakota's event champion from Friday is
Brandon Vander Sluis in the men's shot put. His personal best throw of 62-1 ¼ (18.93m) in the third round of competition gave him the title. He is the second Coyote ever to throw over 62-0 in competition.
• Four additional Coyote throwers (two men, two women) made the finals in the shot put competitions. For the USD men,
Tyler Laughlin placed sixth at 52-11 (16.13m) and
Ian Blowe eighth at 52-5 ¼ (15.98m). For the Coyote women,
Delaney Smith placed seventh at 44-5 ¼ (13.54m) and
Lillian Allison 10
th at 44-1 ¼ (13.44m).
• Two Coyote men's jumpers set season's bests and found themselves with bronze medals Friday. First in the men's high jump,
Landon Olson cleared 6-11 ½ (2.12m) to take third, then
Bennett Schwenn followed suit in the long jump with a season's best 24-4 ½ (7.43m).
• A handful of Coyotes earned trips to the finals in their respective track events Friday, including two athletes making finals in the men's 110-meter hurdles, men's 400-meters, and women's 800-meters.

Ethan Baessler made his second final of the weekend after running 10.69 in the 100-meter prelims. He will race in both the 100 and 200 Saturday.
Jaden Damiano also made his second final of the week, advancing in the 110-meter hurdles Friday in 13.82.
• Damiano will be joined by
Mikael Grace in the 110 hurdle finals after he ran the best prelim time of 13.69.
•
Evan Janzen (48.30) and
Braxton Smith (48.57) advance in the men's 400-meters and
Mason Sindelar (1:53.13) advances in the men's 800-meters.
•
Ellie Thomas and
Berkeley Engelland both win heats of the women's 800-meters to advance to tomorrow's final.
•
Kenya Harris makes the women's 100-meter hurdle finals in 14.15.
•
Alexus Sindelar ran a personal best of 10:47.28 in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase to place sixth. Her time ranks sixth on the USD Top 10 charts. Freshman
Ty Petrocco took eighth in the men's steeple, running 9:45.32 to place eighth.
• The multi events wrapped up Friday afternoon.
Aubrey O'Hare placed seventh in the women's heptathlon with 4749 points.
Aidan Hedderman placed seventh in the decathlon with 6035 points.
•
Marleen Mülla competed in the high jump for the first time this outdoor season, and she placed seventh with a clearance of 5-3 ¾.
