WALNUT, Calif.—South Dakota fifth-year senior
Meredith Clark captured the women's shot put competition at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday with a new personal best inside Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
Clark sent the shot put 53-9 (16.38m) to improve her league-leading mark and move to 38th in the nation. She also ranks second in USD program history for the event. Clark followed up her shot put performance by taking 10th in the women's discus with a throw of 155-5 (47.39m).
Fifth-year senior
Gen Hirata won the women's pole vault with a vault of 13-7 ¾ (4.16m). Senior
Jaidyn Garrett finished runner-up in the competition, clearing the same height.
Redshirt-sophomore
Mason Sindelar placed third in the men's 1,500-meter run with a personal record clocking of 3:50.80. He ranks seventh all-time at USD with the time.
Junior
Joe Lynch took third in the men's high jump with a clearance of 6-11 ½ (2.12m). It follows his career-high performance of 7-0 ½ (2.15m) last weekend and marks his third time clearing 6-11 or higher this spring.
For the fourth-straight week, sophomore
Mikael Grace improved his personal best in the men's 110-meter hurdles. He took fifth place after crossing the finish line in a personal record 14.14 seconds, just a touch faster than the wind-aided 14.15 seconds he posted at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays to start the spring. He moves to fifth in USD program history.
Fifth-year senior
Marshall Faurot tied for sixth in the elite invitational section of the men's pole vault, clearing a height of 17-0 ¾ (5.20m).
Redshirt-sophomore
Tristan Gray took seventh in the men's shot put with a throw of 55-6 ½ (16.93m), an inch shy of his season best set a week ago.
Redshirt-junior
Sara Reifenrath took seventh in the women's 400 meters, crossing the finish line in 53.52 seconds. She also posted a time of 23.83 seconds in the 200 meters.
Junior
Danii Anglin tied for seventh in the women's high jump with a clearance of 5-5 ¾ (1.67m).
Sophomore
Bennett Schwenn took eighth in the men's long jump with a leap of 24-9 ¾ (7.56m).
Fifth-year senior
Madison Jochum clocked 2:12.67 for ninth in the women's 800-meter run.
Fifth-year senior
Ardell Inlay took the tape in a personal record time of 10.43 seconds for 10th in the men's 100-meter dash. His time ranks sixth in USD program history.
Junior
Averi Schmeichel finished 10th in the 100-meter hurdles with a clocking of 14.00 seconds into a headwind. She also posted a personal best of 1:00.17 in the 400-meter hurdles on Friday, ranking fifth in USD program history.
South Dakota wraps up action at the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday inside Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
