SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—South Dakota fifth-year senior
Gen Hirata has been named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week presented by TicketSmarter for the period ended March 31.
Hirata garners the league's weekly field honor for the fourth time her career and first time this season.
Hirata, a native of Fredericksburg, Virginia, placed fifth in the university elite women's pole vault at the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Saturday. She vaulted 14-1 ¼ (4.30m) with a third-attempt make. The height ties her for sixth in the nation this outdoor season.
South Dakota is back in Vermillion this weekend for the USD Early Bird on Friday and Saturday held at Lillibridge Track Complex and Gottsleben Field in Vermillion, South Dakota.
