South Dakota hits the road for the second straight weekend and faces North Dakota, who is playing its home opener. The doubleheader is on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., while the single game is at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Grand Forks.

LAST TIME OUT
South Dakota (16-21, 1-4) dropped two of three in a series against Kansas City.

North Dakota (6-32, 0-3) was swept in a league opening series by South Dakota State.

South Dakota leads 68-37...Coyotes are making first trip to Grand Forks since 2015 and have won eight in a row in the series. 

SOUTH DAKOTA NOTES
The Coyotes offense has been limited to four runs in five Summit League contests and is coming off a very low scoring series against Kansas City where the pitching staff allowed just three earned runs over the three games. 

Alecea Mendoza, who has a current three game hitting streak, is the South Dakota leader with a .307 average while Gabby Moser is at .296 with team highs of eight doubles, six home runs and 31 RBIs.

Clara Edwards has been a workhorse for the Coyotes in the circle as her 110 innings pitched rank second in the Summit League. Her 2.55 earned run average is fourth-best in the Summit League. 

NORTH DAKOTA NOTES
The Fighting Hawks were limited to one run on eight hits over three games against the Jackrabbits.

Johanna Rodriguez, who had two hits in the SDSU series, leads the team with a .291 average and 13 RBIs. Taya Hopfauf has a .230 average and a team-high 14 runs scored.

The pitching staff carries a 4.87 ERA with Jackie Albrecht having made 16 starts and thrown 81 innings while Camryn Lasota has made 13 starts and throw 72.1 innings.
