The Meet
South Dakota is set to host the USD Tune-Up at the Lillibridge Track Complex and Gottsleben Field in Vermillion, South Dakota, on Friday, May 3.
The meet will be live streamed on The Summit League Network, available via the Midco Sports Plus app.
The Coyotes
South Dakota takes to the track for its final regular season meet of the spring. The Coyotes, picked second in the Summit League preseason poll for both men and women, begin the championship slate next week at the Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Championships in St. Paul, Minnesota.
After back-to-back weekends on Lillibridge earlier this spring, the Coyotes have been to California for the Mt. SAC Relays and then to the Drake Relays in Iowa. South Dakota set five school records last weekend at the Drake Relays, with
Sara Reifenrath's individual 400-meter record and four relay event records falling. Seniors
Erin Kinney and
Dylan Kautz picked up Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors. Kinney won gold in the 100 meters and the 4x200-meter relay at Drake, while Kautz was a part of a record-setting 4x100 relay. This weekend will be a final chance for athletes to gear up for a competitive few weeks ahead.
The Competition
The host Coyotes will be joined by a handful of teams including South Dakota State, Omaha, Creighton, Augustana, Bellevue, Buena Vista, Dakota State, Nebraska Wesleyan, and Wayne State.
