VERMILLION, S.D.—Travis Hawks has been named the general manager of Learfield's Coyote Sports Properties. CSP is the multimedia rights holder and sports marketing arm for the University of South Dakota athletics.
"With my expertise in business development, strategy, relationship building and team leadership, I am committed and excited to lead Coyote Sports Properties and South Dakota athletics to new heights," said Hawks.
Hawks comes to South Dakota from Wyoming Sports Properties, where he served as the Senior Manager of Business Development. He has been with Learfield since 2017, starting out as the Manager – Business Development at Wyoming before his promotion to Senior Manager in 2023.
While at Wyoming, Hawks exceeded sales goals by creating and selling innovated sponsorship packages. He forged strong relationships with local, regional and national partners, expanding the company's network and revenue streams. He established customized partnerships with businesses, aligning their brands with the University of Wyoming's passionate fan base.
Hawks' accolades with Learfield include the Learfield Chairman's Club in 2022-23, the Deal of the Year in 2023 and he's been a multi-time goal hitter.
"Travis is a proven leader who brings a track record of relationship building and execution of creative solutions," said South Dakota associate athletic director for fan engagement Jarren Duffy. "Our fans will notice new and exciting activations on gameday this season and his team will play a large role in that. We are ecstatic to welcome Travis to Coyote Sports Properties."
Prior to joining Learfield, Hawks worked with the Helena Brewers Professional Baseball team and the Mobile BayBears Professional Baseball team. Within his sales positions, he drove revenue growth and increased game day attendance for both clubs.
