09.10.2024

Vermillion, S.D. — Natnael Kifle is two weeks into his freshman season and has already clenched his first Summit League honor.

With an outstanding opening season thus far, Natnael Kifle has been name Summit League Cross Country Peak Performer of the Week. Last Friday (Sep. 6) Kifle took first place, winning the men's 6k Platte River Rumble that was hosted by Creighton University in Ashland, Neb.

Kifle collected his very first win on his collegiate career by clocking a time of 18:00. Previously, he opened his collegiate career on USD territory (Aug. 30) and ended in third place with a time of 18:40. Kifle was able to knock his time down by 40 seconds in Ashland, Neb. and came out on top of everyone else.

Natnael and the rest of the Coyotes will be taking the next two weeks to rest and train, but they will be back in action September 27 for the Gans Creek Classic hosted by the Mizzou Tigers.
