Vermillion, S.D. — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released week one regional rankings, revealing South Dakota women's cross country sitting at 15
th in the Midwest Region.

The Coyotes have two competitions under their belt so far this season, showing a strong start to their season. Starting the season off with a home opening event, the Coyote Classic (Aug. 30), the ladies were able to take control of the women's 5k race and defend their home territory by taking the first place team finish.
Next, the Yotes were in Nebraska at the Platte River Rumble where they took second place against very high competition (Sep. 6). South Dakota had six top 20 finishes this race out of a total of 87 runners.
Madison Brouwer has been a solid runner for the Yotes early this season. Brouwer started her sophomore season with a first place finish at the Coyote Classic running a 18:14. She also placed sixth overall at the Platte River Rumble with a time of 18:10.

South Dakota will head to Columbia, Mo. for the Gans Creek Classic competition that will be held on September 27 and hosted by the Mizzou Tigers.
